Home Life With A Home Business

http://danmiller.3stepsecret.com/

Have a Home life with a Home Business A growing phenomenon has allowed people to better balance the demands of a home life and work: the home business. A Home business is a job that allows you to work from home! There are many way to accomplish this task. A home business can be your sole career or just offset your current income. There are two easy tips you can incorporate when balancing your home life with your home business. These tips can help you have fun with your work and family with compromising either one. First, set aside time for jobs and time for family much as you would schedule your day if you left the house for work. A lot time for projects and telecommuting just as you would if you had a boss down the hall and a deadline calendar on your wall. This will provide you with the necessary discipline to make sure work from home gets accomplished in a timely manner. Additionally, this will allow you to schedule in important play groups, swim meets, and other such activities that are important to your family. Working from home can be a difficult feat if not for discipline and a plan. Second, join a group of other professionals who work from home. Networking will help grow your business faster, will help make your company stronger, and will provide you with great ideas for innovations or more effective ways to get things done. A home business is a wonderful thing, but some home business owners fall into a trap of not talking or networking enough, and begin to burn out without the support of a community of co-workers. Whether you are stuffing envelopes, or marketing a product, a plan and support system are essential for success. With a little planning time and a little support from others in the industry, you can reap all of the benefits of a home life while still supporting your family with a comfortable income.

THE BEST USE OF YOUR TIME

Over the years I have heard many, many excuses of why people cannot find the time to get something done. This was especially true when I was an Adjunct Professor in a 4 year college. Students would often say they didn’t get a project done because of other classes or they had way too much work to do. However, the same students found time to go out on the weekends, play PC games through the night, surf the internet, talk on the phone, TV, etc… The real problem was poor time management.

This holds true with people starting up a home based business, especially on the internet. It is very easy to get distracted with surfing the internet or kids yelling and screaming while you are trying to work. Depending on the size of your family there could be a “crisis” every time you turn around.

A key to success is setting aside time to actually work your business, free of distractions. One of the great things about an internet based home business is you can work out whatever schedule is best for you. One of the bad things about an online business is people tend to put things off until later. Then other things come up like kids activities, cooking dinner, television (favorite show) and the list goes on. So, you find yourself saying “ah, I can catch up tomorrow”.

So whatever business you are in, offline or online, try to use your time more productively. Since I am an airline pilot by trade there are many hours spent in airports waiting for the next flight. In fact it is not uncommon to spend between 160-220 hrs per month on duty but actually only fly 80 hrs per month. Since all the major airports have internet access this is perfect for doing my online home based business.

A technique that I use for online business as well as everyday life is to get the work done first and play afterwards. I try to instill this in my family members as well so collectively we can get the work done and then enjoy free time together. Even if the actual work only equates to one hour, that one hour of work should be done first before any fun activities. I also find it useful to leave the TV off even though I really enjoy TV a lot!!

I wish you continued success with your business and in life!
